Cloud 9 takes up the whole top floor of the house, and sleeps three (four if we add a cot); there is a queen-sized bed and a single bed (in a separate part of the room – useful if you have a friend, a child or other family member travelling with you.) There is also a delightfully tiled bathroom en suite.
This is formerly the room that Sydney Harling Smith, the owner-before-David, made over every year in anticipation of the arrival of “The Secret”, a mysterious entity who never quite made it as far as Masset (as far as any of us know).
Douglas Coupland wrote the ending to Generation A in Cloud 9.
